Where This Started
When I lost everything to a scam that wiped out my pension savings in TAO, the community rallied without being asked. They supported me through the darkest week. It confirmed what I already knew: I don’t break. Challenges forge us. Life is meant to be hard.
From that, the pull to give back through content wouldn’t leave me alone. I followed it without knowing where it would lead, and doors I didn’t expect started opening.
Something Rare
This community is something rare: good people that actually deliver. We’re building something unprecedented: not just wealth (though it’s that, like BTC in 2013), but proof of intelligence. Subnets using incentive mechanisms to unlock advances that centralised AI can’t achieve – innovation that only exists because it’s decentralised.
We show up for each other. Buying dTAO to save hardworking subnets. Creating support groups for scam victims. Rallying around new creators. Calling out bad actors. We lift each other because we believe in this vision enough to fight for it, and for each other.
We’re building a world without borders based on contribution – where value comes from what you build and give, not gatekeeping.
The Bigger Picture
Right now, centralised systems are breaking down. Trust in governments, traditional finance, institutions – eroding. Traditional capitalism puts profit before what’s right. Fiat devaluing (Ray Dalio documenting this openly). Real wages falling. Surveillance increasing. Debanking. Loss of free speech. People waking up to extraction and control masquerading as safety.
Then there’s AI.
Massive data centres consuming unsustainable energy. Billions required for infrastructure that becomes obsolete as chip technology advances. All that intelligence controlled by a few corporations running business models that haemorrhage money. This concentration of power isn’t just economically fragile, it’s dangerous.
At the exact moment these systems break, Bittensor exists. Decentralised intelligence distributed across thousands of nodes. Proof of contribution, not proof of capital. Intelligence coordinated by the many, not owned by the few.
But people need more than technical analysis. They need the human layer: perspectives that help them see patterns others miss, understand what we’re actually building, feel less alone.
After eleven years in complex offshore projects – coordinating teams, timelines, and moving parts where one miscalculation meant delays that cost millions – I learned what actually makes things work when the stakes are high. Those same principles apply to building in Bittensor.
